You remember that Mono show back in December at Mao? You remember the openers, Hualun, from Wuhan? Well, these post-rock purveyors are ensconced in Wujun’s 13D studios on Damuqiao Lu this entire week tracking their new 2nd album, to be released on the Modern Sky label. Here we can see guitarists Ding Mao and Zhu MingKang doing their ‘noise’ thing.
It sounds incredible – the two of them are sitting in the live room facing each other but separated by a small wall of amplifiers. Each of them is running a stereo setup with a Marshall stack and a smaller Fender combo, with lots of pedals separating the players from their amps. I can’t wait to hear the finished product.
